Democracy In America by Alexis de Tocqueville is a significant part of American history. Tocqueville uses logic and past history to analyze the America and it's new form of government, democracy. Tocqueville addresses the pros and cons of the new experimental government, and tries to approach the idea of democracy without bias. Tocqueville's views are unique and unlike any textbook analyzes of America and it's newly formed government.

Alexis de Tocqueville was born in Paris, France to an aristocratic family. As a young man Tocqueville studied philosophy at the College Royal, during this time Tocqueville questioned the role of the aristocracy and the French government. Around the age of eighteen Tocqueville slipped into a deep religious crisis that tortured him for the rest of his life. Tocqueville served as apprentice magistrate at the Versailles court of law......
