The Medium Is the Message

Summary:   Analyzes the book of John from the Gospel. Focuses on John's description of Jesus and how it differs from other versions in the bible.


Jesus' portrayal in the Gospel of John is very much devoted to the works and miracles that are performed by Jesus, rather than the way his life is led day to day. In this manner, readers of John get a more descriptive version of Jesus' life; the details of his life are condensed, and the story surrounding the included details are elaborated on. It would seem that John is more concerned with the meaning and reaction to the words that he writes rather than the detailing of a course of events. My personal suppositions of why John is written in this manner are varied, but may be interelated despite the differences.
