Summary: A review of the film "Waking Life," directed by Art Linklater.
Waking Life was an astonishing film directed by Richard Linklater with lead actor Wiley Wiggins. This is a movie which explores the blurring of dreams and reality, playing on the idea that we may be actually dreaming even in our most conscious wide-awake states. I expected the film to give me insight into an abstract world of ideas and philosophies, in turn leading me to contemplate the realities of life. The key idea of the film is to prescribe us with an awakening interest in philosophy, physics, and psychology, challenging us to think about the metaphysical questions we normally ignore. This is a movie about a teenager who appears to be in a lucid dream in which he goes through experiencing philosophical situations and conversations regarding life, and its meaning.
