Classical and Contemporary Values

Summary: Many values held by the ancient Greeks are identical to those of modern times: beauty, power, and order. This essay compares and contrasts the expression of those values in their respective eras.
When gazing back on the Greeks in ancient times, their cultural values aren't very diverse from modern day, contemporary values. For an example, some well respected Greek values such as: beauty, power, order, are seen all across today's world. The ethic of beauty; seen to the Greeks as precious idealized way of living, shows up on every street corner, every billboard, every ad on T.V. in the modern day society. Intelligence put the Greeks at the level of their gods and as for today, intelligence has brought us the world as we know it. Greek art makes it clear that they modeled order, and when looking at today's common art to their classical art, order sets the personality of it all.
