Summary: Hamlet, conisdered to be the most complex character within William Shakespeare's work, is exceptionally intelligent, trustworthy, honest, hard working, and fair. Yet his barbaric qualities are depicted throughout the play. Every single characteristic listed, even barbaric, are all qualities necessary to be a good king.
Hamlet is the most complex character within William Shakespeare's work. Hamlet is Exceptionally intelligent, trustworthy, honest, hard working, and fair but what makes hamlet more complex is his barbaric quality depicted throughout the play. Every single characteristic listed, even barbaric, are all qualities I believe people would want within a king.
There cannot be a strong country without a strong leader and a king is considered a symbol of his land. Claudius, despite the bloody way he gained power may have been considered as an alright king. Claudius did in fact keep Fortinbras from taking over his kingdom for some time but his obsession for power ruined the kingdom. Despite being king he is also a murderer, liar, manipulative and a villain. He murder his own brother, stole his nephews thrown, and married his sister in law.
