Perseus is an important figure in Greek mythology. Perseus is a hero that wins the fight against a fearsome monster, Medusa. He also saves the life of his beloved, Andromeda. Similarly, Neo from the Matrix is a hero that fights his enemies, the agents, in order to save the world. Because Perseus is the son of Zeus, the gods take good care of him. When Perseus arrives at Japa, the gods give Perseus special items to help him succeed his journey against Medusa. One of the special items is the cap of darkness. Whoever wears the cap of darkness becomes invisible. Perseus uses this benefit to sneak places without being seen. When Neo goes to the real world in the Matrix, he receives special human powers. Speed is one of the best human powers he has. Neo can run, fight, and fly in the speed of light. Neo moves so fast that he is invisible to the eyes of his enemies. Perseus and Neo can both become invisible whenever they wish.

As Perseus wonders in the fields of Japa, he finds a flying horse, Pegasus. With Pegasus, Perseus can fly. Perseus uses this horse to fly to the underworld. Similar to Perseus, Neo has the ability to fly with his superpowers. Neo uses this advantage when he fights the agents.

Perseus falls in love with Andromeda. At one time Andromeda is chained to a cliff of the sea monster. The sea monster is just ready to kill Andromeda. With the help of Pegasus, Perseus rescues her and saves her life. Neo finds himself in love with his teammate, Trinity. There is a moment when Trinity is going to die from a bullet that penetrates her body. With his special human powers, Neo takes the bullet out of Trinity's body. Neo, like Perseus, saves the love of his beloved.

Both Neo and Perseus are on an expedition to find out there destinies. Zeus appears on Perseus's new shield to notify him that the great gifts given by the gods will help him find his destiny. Eventually, Perseus's destiny was to fight Medusa and save Andromeda. In a similar manner, Morpheus insists that Neo is "the one" and lets Neo figure out his real destiny. Neo's destiny was to save the world and rescue Trinity.

Perseus and Neo are similar heroes that fight for the love of their beloved. They can both fly and become invisible whenever they wish. Perseus and Neo go on an expedition to find their destinies. They also are remembered for centuries for their heroic deeds.
