Introduction:

Today's society is reliant on electricity to provide essential and nonessential living requirements. Without it, much of the society would be unable to function efficiently. Supplied power is infrequently used in the form that a G.P.O puts out. Household power supply is converted from 240 (RMS) mains power to a more practical value of 20 V(RMS), this enables the supply to satisfy the requirements of the home. This adaptation is employed as large voltage equates to large cables and thus higher expenses. Another explanation why mains power is converted, despite neither household nor industries having a single common need for the supply is that society is progressing towards a micro environment.
