The Philippines have a sad history of bloodshed and violence. However the framework for peace and the desire for peace exist.
Violence.
It's a force used to cause injury or great damage, not only physically but to the whole moral fiber of humanity. It's a harm done by a lack of proper respect. There are a lot of times when violence is present, from the ordinary kind of violence to political ones.
Violence can be considered to be everywhere. It may include the usual, like assault, manslaughter, murder, rape, homicide, robbery, juvenile crime, duress and mayhem. For the ones present in the family (family violence), they could be domestic violence and the standard child abuse. And as I have said, aggression is also present in politics (political violence). Definitely, it should be. And these would be fascism and terrorism. Corruption is not included in the Microsoft Encarta, where I've searched out the two (fascism and terrorism), but it could be the cause of these and the sadism inside a particular government. Ghandi have said that many turned to violence because it is their only effective method of securing justice to/for themselves.
The legendary Adolf Hitler alleged the quotation,
" The very first essential for success is a perpetually constant and regular employment of violence."
This is not true, probably for all of us and definitely for a person who has a rank in society, a person who pledged in front of so many people of a given state, a president.
Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo's idea, like ours, is in contradiction to Adolf's excerpt about violence being the source of success. Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo is the president of the Republic of the Philippines. Beyond doubt, she wants to uphold peace in her country, in our country.
Though not a perfect individual, just to prop up peace, she accomplished remarkable projects/ programs and gave various people some hope in the idea of it here in our country. Several of her programs are the, Mindanao Natin (Mindanao National Initiative), Good Governance - Intensified Anti Graft and Corruption, Ahon Bata sa Lansangan, Ahon Bayan, Ahon Pamilya, and Quick Reaction Team Pamilya.
To clear some things, I would give you enough information about these programs. The first in my list is the Mindanao Natin - this is the sound strategy for peace and development in Mindanao that is being implemented across many areas of action from security to infrastructure to education to economic growth to poverty reduction to law enforcement. Second is the Good Governance - Intensified Anti- Graft and Corruption - Arroyo expounded on her administration's core belief to achieve good governance, she said in her Inaugural Speech in 2001 that to ensure that our gains are not dissipated through corruption, we must improve [moral standards]. As we do so, we create fertile ground for good governance based on a sound moral foundation, a philosophy of transparency, and an effective implementation. Third is the Ahon Bata sa Lansangan,
which reminds us that our future is in the future of Filipino children. This project seeks to intensify and accelerate past and present attempts to address the plight of street children. It provides street children and their families with necessary social services to protect their rights and enjoy a new lease on life. Fourth is the Ahon Bayan -
this is one of the DSWD's (Department of Social and Welfare and Development) main tasks. Ahon Bayan is a resource generation project for social welfare services. It addresses the inadequacy of funds for social welfare. The project aims to generate and mobilize resources by matching donors from local and international funding agencies with proponents from non- government organizations and people's organizations. Fifth is the Ahon Pamilya, which is also commonly known as the "National Family Violence Prevention Program." It is a community-based strategy of preparing family members to protect themselves against violence and manage resolution of conflicts within the context of family members. And last and sixth in my list is the Quick Reaction Team Pamilya. This program, like a lot of the government's R.A.s for Women Empowerment, has put in place mechanism that ensures immediate response to the needs of sexually abused women and children. It mobilized individuals, professionals, volunteers and other socio-civic and religious organizations towards an effective response in sexual abuse cases.
The condition of putting or joining the Filipino people together so as to make one, one thought, one opinion, one heart, and having equal rights, opportunity, and treatment is always imminent when the 'the peace of the government' is at hand. To summon these three, we come up with peace, unity, and democracy.
Promoting all the said projects lessens her time with her family, gives her stress all day, exhausts her through every second, and cuts her time in other political concerns, but still, doing them makes her gratified. Who would not be if you were about to accomplish the heart- warming idea of peace? The one God wanted us to be spreading. And in fact, it is really better to give something people would be bearing in their minds and hearts than receiving anything from them.
Remembering the want of Mindanao in resigning in being the fact that they are one of the lands and also considered the people of the Philippines and the Abu Sayyaf's cases and reasons of rebelling and at the same time our grief and troubles during that time, Gloria takes time to, again, clear things up with Mindanao, the government, and the people. And here, she dealt with the idea of having the Mindanao Natin and taking peace as a fact between them.
In Good Governance - Intensified Anti- Graft and Corruption, people are given the chance to improve themselves as well as their moral standards. These people include the political ones and the average. When the citizens inherit this and when we summon this up, we absolutely create a consistent unity, democracy and all. And, peace would be following up those personas.
Ahon Bata sa Lansangan - this project promotes peace between the unfortunate citizen and the government. With this, people in the lower rank will not be always judgmental and would not think that they are deprived.
Ahon Bayan - this helps the 'bayan' into not thinking twice when dealing something with the government. And with only this, peace is in attendance.
Ahon Pamilya - this prevents violence into getting into families and helps everyone in resolving conflicts, etc. that all may have the chance to transact peace.
And Quick Team Pamilya - as well as with the law in human rights and about democracy, this propels the immediate response to the needs of (sexually) abused women and children. And with this, the love, trust, and respect of people not only for the president and the presiding officers of the government, but for themselves, increase.
Peace in our country still has hope. I believe, not only I, consider this inspiration. I know, the president does.
