The play takes place in an apartment that doubles as a home and an office for the successful psychoanalyst Phyllis Riggs, and her husband Sam. The play opens to an obviously distraught Phyllis and her confused friend, Carol; Phyllis had called Carol and told her that she needed to see her because it was an emergency. Phyllis is quite reluctant at first to give up the reason why she left Carol a frantic phone message, but she is able.....
