They followed the behavioral/learning perspective because they reviewed information based on people intelligence level depending on their life style and family life.

What was the methodology", Why":

Ex-Post facto because the psychologists looked at data collected from previous studies. This study was done after the fact.

Those whom conducted this experiment took information and data from previous studies based on the topic of whether or not birth order matters in intelligence.
