The technology differences between the two civilizations were not too different. They were both based on writing and science, for example both river valley civilizations, Indian and Chinese, worked on there writing and science during their time era. More in depth the Chinese River Valley's writing progressed from knotted rope to scratched lines on bone to ideographic symbols.
