Betrayal in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Summary:   The theme of betrayal is present throughout JK Rowling's novel Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Lord Voldermort, Draco Malfoy, and Snape all threw away a life of safety and enjoyment, taking on a life of duplicity and desolation instead, and their lies and violence served to deceive and cause misfortune for the good side.


In her novel Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, JK Rowling writes about the double crossing of a teacher and how the Dark side confronts the innocent students of the school. By using lies and violence as a tool, Lord Voldermort and his followers work their way into power. Harry tries to warn Dumbledore of events he foresees, but all attempts turn into failure. Throughout the story the theme of betrayal is seen through the dark lord, a teacher, and a young kid.

Back in Lord Voldermort's young days, when he was know as Tom Riddle, he was seeking to find out his family's history. He used facts and books and found his uncle who told him his mother had ran away with Tom Riddle Sr. Then Tom Riddle Sr. left her and she no longer.....
