Men Women and Children; Equal or Not?

Summary: All though America has laws on equality between races, and sexes, these laws are not always enforced. I think that there will never be total equality between men and women, partially because America has made it sort of a moral to be easier to women, at least before men.
Men Women and Children; Equal or Not Equal"

The editorial, "Women and Kids Wave Bye-bye to Daddy," covers the controversial subject of a person's age, sex, religion, or financial standing, being factors to determining who should live or die, in a situation like the Titanic. I strongly believe men have no difference in equality over women, and visa-versa, but when the situation involves children; I also believe that children have the right to live over an adult.

In the Titanic tragedy, several thousands of people were faced with traumatizing thought of immediate death. These people ranged in different ages, sexes, religions, and different financial standings. The movie Titanic, illustrates the divisions between the first and third class, and how the first class people were the first ones on the life boats. Right or wrong, that's how it was.

I believe that no matter the sex, or the financial standing, a child should have the first right to a chance of survival. If I were on the titanic, I would have filled the life boats with as many children as possible. Now, when it comes to adults, I believe that no sex has more importance over the other sex. So therefore, it should be fair game to the men and women who were on the titanic at the time of its sinking. But the past is the past and there is no changing it. All you can do is try to make the future a more equal place.

Now there are still some equal differences between men and women. Just like in fighting. It is by no means okay to hit, but if a woman hits a man, it's not as big of a deal, as if a man hit a woman. Also, a woman can get off of a charge by the law, easier than a man.

All though America has laws on equality between races, and sexes, these laws are not always enforced. I think that there will never be total equality between men and women, partially because America has made it sort of a moral to be easier to women, at least before men. Hopefully there will be a day where you sex, race, or financial standing, doesn't determine your right to live.
