An academic leader needs to be able to maintain good grades and work hard towards the goals in which they have set for themselves. To be a leader in the classroom one must be prepared to answer the questions the teacher is asking, take notes while the teacher is lecturing and study the notes to prepare for a test. Actively participating in class not only assists others but also provides a way to learn the material. If one can maintain good grades, it shows others a willingness to work hard to be proud of something. Then others will hopefully want to work hard to achieve the same accomplishments.
