Summary: One of the greatest rulers in history, Alexander III, aptly named Alexander the Great, conquered and ruled an empire stretching from the Balkans to the Himalayans and from Egypt to the Caspain Sea, almost the entire known world, and all within 12 years. But in 323 BC his empire was cut short with the mysterious death of Alexander at the age of 32 that has baffled experts for centuries.

On the night of June 1 323 BC, Alexander honoured the death of a close friend after two years abroad with the conquest of the Persian Empire. During the night Alexander suffered symptoms similar to a fever, and upon making a toast suddenly shouted out in pain.
