My Favorite Book
Over the course of the summer I read four mind-boggling novels. The mandatory Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Color Purple, Black Boy and of course The Autobiography of Malcolm X. I chose these specific novels because after reading the short summary on the back, the themes always caught my attention. Malcolm X was my favorite book because he was able to display the transition of a man from the lowest depths of society to one of the most respected and remembered victims in the world. Malcolm once stated "It is a time for martyrs now, and if I am to be one, it will be for the cause of brotherhood. That's the only thing that can save this country."
