Summary:
William Butler Yeats and Khalil Gibran are both poets who express their feelings and thoughts about love in poems. In William Yeats poems "Crazy Jane and the Bishop" and "Crazy Jane Grown Old Looks at the Dancer" he talks about a girl named Jane during different times. She had a lover named Jack who is believed to be dead. When she sees the two lovers dancing she remembers Jack. In Khalil Gibrans "The Prophet", the language is rhetoric.
Why do people need to be in love? I think that every single person wants to be in love once in their life because they need someone in their life to be with. Falling in love does not mean to do things with a person or have feelings for someone. When you fall in love you know that there is always someone there for you, that feels different for you and loves you more than everyone and you also feel the same for that person. Some people just fall in love because they need to share their life with someone.
He is saying that love is both good and bad. Yeats feels that love is vast and beyond any one persons understanding. He thinks that love is mysterious. Love is a scary right and it is not a straight line.
Yeats believes that hearts are not gifts to give away easily to someone and if you give it to a person, the heart should be earned by those people that are not entirely beautiful. He also believes that love is like a high secret and to believe in love and see the love you should look in the mirror everyday to see it. He thinks that nobody is wise enough to find out all that is in it. A quote by Khalil Giran is "I feel in deep love with the world And the world also behaved in the same way. That's why all my were on their lips And all their tears were in my eyes." He is saying that love is like loving the world. You have to love the life that you're living in to love someone else because in order to be happy and be in love you have to have love for it. Another quote is "It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations." Gibran is saying that love takes time to call "love" and you have to catch that moment to be in love.
When two people like each other and if their age is legal to get married they get married without knowing each others behaviours. When they start living together they get to know each other more and they start fighting and problems start. At the end, they decide to get divorced because they realize they don't get along and cant be together anymore. The media frequently reports that 50% of American marriages will end in divorce. This number appears to have been copied from very inadequate data related to a single county or state. However, it appears to be reasonable close to the probable value. The Americans for Divorce Reform estimates that "Probably, 40 or possibly even 50 percent of marriages will end in divorce if current trends continue. However, that is only a projection and a prediction."
Love is interpreted differently from everyone's point of view. I believe that once you see someone or get to know a person you can tell you are in love. Love doesn't always have to be a positive thing. Love brings everything in your life; happiness, money, family and friends. It puts everything in perspective.
