It would be fair to say that the will of the majority of human beings is partially to create for themselves, a sense of identity. The desire of the person may be to be recognized as an individual, with the ultimate goal being; the achievement of inability to succumb to categorization. On the other hand, certain persons may feel that in order to obtain a sense of identity, they must possess characteristics that are common to another particular segment of society. Either way, a sense of identity is of the utmost importance. But the struggle to attain a sense of identity, individual identity in particular, is largely hindered by parental influences.
