Every year, there are hundreds of SM2 students coming to Singapore to study, and as one among them, I would like to talk about the true ideas in our minds when doing the decision.
First of all, when comparing with China, Singapore can give us a better studying environment, such as the world-famous universities, the advanced experimental equipment, and the best professors and students from all over the world. Needless to say, that are what exactly attract a student most. What's more, Singapore is an English-speaking country, so that we can learn English much easier and faster than in China. Second, we are afraid of missing the best university in China. To tell the truth, though we are the outstanding students in China, we are not very sure whether we can get into the best universities in China, because everything is impossible to anticipate during the final examination. Unless we know and remember what exactly every question and its solution are, we can never be too confident of ourselves. So when at a risk of missing the best university in China, we would rather choose to study at fantastic universities in Singapore. Also, going abroad is really attractive, as most of Chinese people are willing to go abroad, especially our students who have tired of the education system. So we would rather go to Singapore to experience a new type of education than continuing to suffer in China. Finally, as most Chinese families are not rich, sending their children abroad has always been something difficult and unbelievable. When the Ministry of Education in Singapore offers such a good opportunity that we can study and live in Singapore without paying one cent, we can hardly reject.
Based on the above causes, even though we will have to work for Singapore for at least 6 years after graduation, we make up our minds without hesitation. For further, after we came to Singapore, what happened to us"
At the beginning, we encountered a lot of difficulties, for example, we were not used to the food in Singapore, and we could not understand the Singapore English, what's more, we could not sleep well as we missed our parents a lot. However, as the days we spent in Singapore increases, we can solve those problems gradually. At the second period, we have some other problems, such as computer game problem and the love problem. As time flies, some boys and girls may fell in love with each other. Most possibility, they spend a lot of time talking and doing something else but not studying, that will do harm to their study. Also, some boys were addicted to computer games, such as Counter Strike, War Craft 3. Actually they are very good games for us to entertain, but not doing nothing else except playing them. So abandoning ourselves to computer games is something we should avoid. After experiencing the above incidents, we have stayed in Singapore for nearly one year. Now we have got used to those things we were not used to before and can study by our hearts.
As more and more SM2 students are coming to Singapore, I hope all of us can really enjoy ourselves here and also get a bright future in Singapore.
