The Wanderer

Summary: A review of the novel The Wanderer by Sharon Creech, a story told through easily understandable journal entries about an adventure across the ocean to England. Emphasis is given to the characters in the study, particularly Sophie, Cody, and Brian.

All of the chapters in this book were journal-type entries, similar to a "diary." I liked this style because I could understand how each character felt, instead of just the viewpoint of one character. Also, I understood what was happening in the book at a given time.There were no surprises for later.

The main characters in this book are Sophie, a 13 year old girl, her Uncles Stew, Dock and Mo, and her two cousins Cody and Brian.

Stew, Dock and Mo travel across the ocean to England on a boat called the Wanderer. They were going to see their Dad. Cody, Brian and Sophie are also going along to see their grandfather called Bompie. This is a big adventure for them.
