Coming to America ...Past and Present

The United States was founded and settled by immigrants. Many immigrants, such as eastern European Jews and southern Italians came to America to escape war, poverty, famine, or religious persecution. Many also chose to immigrate to realize the opportunities and promises America held. Two such groups were the Italians and the Jews immigrants. I will explain some of the struggles these two groups of immigrants coming to America and compare them to immigrants in 1965.
