Islam

Islam is a monotheistic religion, based on the belief in one God. The religion was proclaimed by the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia in the 7th century. The term Islam means "surrender" and within Islam the believers use the Arabic word for God, Allah, to refer to the creator of the world and all the life that delves within it. Allah is viewed as the sole God and one must submit to Gods will, which is made known through the sacred scriptures known as the Quran which was revealed to Muhammad. Islam is a very popular religion, however despite its huge popularity around the world and the growing Muslim communities everywhere, there are still many misconceptions attached with Islam. Through mass media, Islam has been portrayed as a violent religion and the two negative images that are.....
