Summary: The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver. My essay is about the relations between the rich and poor.
Goodwill. It's not just a place where "poor" people shop. There is not trashy stuff there. Everyday people shop there. Even Cynthia, the social worker, goes there to find a little cameo pin to complete the perfect outfit. Using a cameo pin, Barbara Kingsolver shows the similarities between Taylor and Cynthia in her novel, The Bean Trees.

"But I stayed in school....and I intended to finish" (3). Taylor is a normal person with a dream. She wants to finish school. She does and is proud of herself. She knew she had a somewhat poor life, but she made the best out of it. She let herself make opportunities to be better than she was. Cynthia was that way too.
