Nicotine and Tobacco Speech

Summary:   How harmful can tobacco and nicotine be?

Tabacco And Nicotine (Die if you want)

Good morning dear students, my name is Jamil Sikaffy and today I'll give you a small speech about how harmful tobacco and nicotine are. We never thought that nicotine in cigarettes could harm the heart, brain, lungs, skin, nose, mouth, eyes and ears making you really ill. In Honduras, 45% of the population are consuming cigarettes in a regular basis, and this is not including minors.

Think as the cigarette to be a legalized excuse of a drugs. This is because it creates addiction and when you start smoking, then when you don't feel any satisfaction, you'll try another type of drug that similar to cigarettes but stronger, that fills this need that the cigarette provides. As the addiction becomes older, people trend to try new drugs such as marihuana, cocaine, crack, and alcohol.

The cigarette is harmful for everyone. One example of this is when athletes smoke. Nicotine causes their body to lose resistance and concentration. It starts with the lungs, then eventually reaching the heart through the contraction and blocking of the veins causing your heart to stop. That means you have a high risk of death by a heart attack. It doesn't stop here. Nicotine also affects your brain by the entrance of carbon dioxide blocking the process of oxygenation minimizing your concentration. It reduces the brains functions to a 3 or 4 percent instead of using a total of 5 or 6 percent. And the damage goes on to the lungs, because the smoke goes directly to them. It creates a nicotine layer, making it hard to breathe. This way you also lose resistance. It affects skin by lowering your temperature and making wrinkles in the entire lips zone. The nose seems to be slightly affected because you only lose the sense of smell, of coarse, when you abuse smoking. Your mouth is affected also because it causes cancer in your lips, tongue, throat and causes a lot of vocal infections. The eyes are affected by irritation, getting to cause lost of vision in case of prolonged abuse of cigarette. The sanguineous nerves and the ear glasses are affected by nicotine too, reducing the hearing capacity.

Do you know why do you smoke? You thing you look cool or important if you smoke. No! You are so wrong! You only look ridiculous and make a fool out of yourself. You know, when I was in Miami, I was in this sports center and I saw a poster and it said, "What Is a Cigarette? Answer: "It's a cylinder with tobacco and nicotine, and at the other side is an fool." Think about it. Don't smoke. Take it or leave it; Your Choice!
