Civil War

Summary: There were many causes that led to them but slavery was probably the most important cause. There were two sides, the north and the south. The northern region is the free territory where slaves were banned and there were the southern territory where slaves were allowed. The country then began to expand so Congress had to decide whether the land gained was free or slave, the amount of free land and slave land might not have been equal making either the north or south mad. This eventually led to the Civil War.
Causes of the Civil War

The Civil War was the greatest war in history. There were many causes that led to them but slavery was probably the most important cause. There were two sides, the north and the south. The northern region is the free territory where slaves were banned and there were the southern territory where slaves were allowed. The country then began to expand so Congress had to decide whether the land gained was free or slave, the amount of free land and slave land might not have been equal making either the north or south mad. This eventually led to the Civil War.

The Missouri Compromise was passed in 1820 and was the first cause of the Civil war. It was an imaginary line across the United States that separated the slave and free region. Missouri happened to be in the middle of this imaginary line...
