Summary:   Provides an argument disputing the statement that "The Civil War was not inevitable; it was the result of extremism and failures of leadership on both sides."


"The Civil War was not inevitable; it was the result of extremism and failures of leadership on both sides." This statement in my opinion is not true because in the 1830's to 1860's, before and during the time of the civil war major disputes came throughout the states. This statement can be argued on whether you believe the war was going to occur or if changes could have been made to keep the war from happening. However, in my opinion the occurrence of the war came from many reasons, the biggest came to be about slavery, others that came along with this were about taxes, and the split of the United States.
