Pursuit of the Protists

Summary:   Explores the world of protists. Provides information about how they move, reproduce, etc. Written in the style of a news report.


I am Nithesh Bommireddipalli, reporting for the Gibbons Gazette. There are many protists in the world today. There are also three kinds of them, animal-like, plant-like, and fungus-like. I am very fascinated by these species. So I agreed to be shrunk to the size of 250 micrometers by a shrinking machine that a scientist owned. I observed one organism of each of the kinds of protists there are in a rain forest. I observed each of the organism's appearance, locomotion, and etc.

The first organism I observed was a particular ciliate known as a paramecium. The paramecium looked like it was searching for food as it followed many microganisms. I have found the organism where most ciliates are found, a moist area. I found the organism specifically in the soil. A ciliate is an animal-like.....
