How Light Affects the Rate of Photosynthesis Affected

Summary: Light intensity is a factor in the rate of photosynthesis, which is production of simple sugars from carbon dioxide and water causing the release of sugar and oxygen. Light is what causes photosynthesis to occur. Hence it stands to reason that the intensity and duration of light will affect this biological process.

Some factors affecting photosynthesis are:

,,« enzymes work in are (35 degrees ¡V 40 degrees).

,,« Light Intensity ¡V Checking how the photosynthesis will work depending how close to the plant the light is.

,,« Carbon dioxide ¡V check if more carbon dioxide makes the plants photosynthesise faster.

Introduction

Photosynthesis occurs only in the presence of light, and takes place in the chloroplasts of green plant cells. Photosynthesis can be defined as the production of simple sugars from carbon dioxide and water causing the release of sugar and oxygen. The chemical equation for photosynthesis can be expressed as:

The fact that all plants need light in order to photosynthesise has been proven many times in experiments, and so it is possible to say that without light, the plant would die.

Temperature- Generally higher temperatures are better than cold temperatures for photosynthesis. However if it is humid, and the air is saturated with water...
