The American Promise means the right to quality of life, liberty, and that all people should be treated the way they treat other people. These rights are promised to Americans who live in the United States, and are explained in the Declaration of Independence "That all people are created equal." Also, the constitution states "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense and promote the general Welfare." Illegal immigrants are affecting the quality of life and liberty because they take away jobs from Americans. The immigrants come to this country and take the jobs that pay less money.
