In an era where depletion of fossil fuels a major problem and pollution an even bigger issue,it is only the alternate sources of energy which can meet the energy requirements of the future.

Alternate sources of energy include solar,wind,tidal and thermal energy.In solar energy energy from the sun is converted into other usable forms of energy using solar panels,mirrors etc.Wind energy uses the energy of moving air;tidal enegy uses the energy of the movement of water during high and low tides and thermal eneregy uses the energy stored in the earth in various forms like, hot springs, geysers etc.

Eventhough a lot of research has gone into it the main reason why we are still dependant on fossil fuels is due to the high cost of such technologies and in the case of certain cases, to the lack of these technologies.

There is also problems due to the lack of efficiency of such systems and the lack of awareness about such systems.

It is important that people know that these alternate sources can lead to much more cleaner,cheaper and safer energy sources.The day is not far when these sources will herald a new revolution in energy production.
