The film ‘Lantana’ deals with many broad themes and issues that change our perspective and attitude towards many factors of life and how we live it. It questions our very morals and ethics, challenges our integrity. Relationships are commonly depicted through out the film, be it a sexual relationship between Leon and Jane or be it one of intimacy and love between Nick and Paula. ‘Lantana’ points out the many mistakes we make in the twisted mind map we call life, and shows the desperate measures we take to try and patch up theses mistakes. Honesty-unfaithful, Trust-deception, Love-Lust, Anger-Forgiveness. These contrasts along with many others can be found littered all over the film, and these very contrasts are what drive the message through the characters and their scenarios.
