The Five People You Meet in Heaven

The book The Five People You Meet In Heaven begins with Eddie, the man character, working at an amusement park called Ruby Pier. Soon, he dies trying to save a girl from a falling car (one of the rides), but dies without knowing if he saved her or not. When he wakes up, he meets five different people who help him understand what he lived for and why he lived. Each person is connected to Eddies life some home and each person teaches him a different lesson. The first person he meets is Blue Man. The Blue Man taught Eddie, "One withers, another grows. Birth and Death are part of a whole." Eddie then meets his Captain from the army. The Captain taught Eddie that sacrifice is part of life.

The third person Eddie meets in heaven is Ruby. Ruby is the woman that Ruby Pier is named after. Her husband wad the man who built the amusement park and he named it after the love of his life, Ruby. Ruby taught Eddie that forgiving people is very important. The fourth person Eddie meets in heaven is his wife, Marguerite. From her, Eddie learns that love never ends, even when life does. The last person Eddie meets in heaven is a young girl named Tala. Tala teaches him that his existence as "Eddie Maintenance" was where he was suppose to be because he kept children safe and made good for them. She also tells him the answer to the question that he has been wondering about since he died.
