Charles Dickens is one of the greatest authors; because of his characterization and the way he develops his characters. In this book, Great Expectations, he does an excellent job of developing Pip in to a man and getting the other characters to influence Pip in such a way. To answer the question who were the most influential characters in this book is quite difficult. Therefore I looked in this book to find a cause and effect of each character's actions.

One character that I selected to be one of the most influential people in Pip's life is the convict, Abel Magwitch. Abel Magwitch was the convict in the marshes behind the forge.
