The American Slave Trade, the Division of Labor

In the American Slave trade of 1750 - 1870 it is fair to say that the black slaves shared more similarities than differences due to prejudiced legislations but also from various sources such as letters, memoirs, statistics, poetry and songs. The afore mentioned legislation made all black people slaves and effectively classed them as real estate. This applied to every slave and rendered all slaves bereft of any rights. The legislation did not favour or discriminate any slave and did not mention gender, the type of work allotted or the master but put all slaves in the same bracket and insinuated that all of them would be used for the same purpose. Despite this not all slaves would lead a similar life however...
