The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexander Dumas was written in the mid 19th century. The story itself took place in the late 17th century France, during the reign of Louis XIV, the Sun King. Over the past few decades, many movies were made based on this novel, the most recent one being the 1998 version starring Leonardo De'Caprio. Philippe, in the novel was the identical twin of Louis XIV, and the latter twin that came out from his mother's womb. Their father, Louis XIII, whose own brother plotted against him, understand too well what will happen if one twin contest the seniority claimed by the other.
