Rob Gordon (John Cusack) is a stubborn, cranky man with a jerky lifestyle who owns a vinyl record store that isn't exactly what you call "reaping the rewards" but either way, he is very passionate about it. His girlfriend Laura (Iben Hjejle) has walked out on him. She loves him, but there is just something in between that just couldn't bring them to bond properly.
