Revealing character and advancing the action of the story are two things that all great storytellers are concerned about. In the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the character of Huck Finn and Jim is revealed during the event in which Huck plays a trick on Jim after Huck was lost in the fog. Jim expresses his anger to Huck in the quote. Jim not only reveals his character but also Huck Finns and at the same time advances the story.
