Hermes, the herald of the gods, was born by Maia, the nymph, daughter of Atlas and one of the Pleiades. Hermes is the god of thieves, travelers, merchants, athletics, and anyone who is known for their cunningness. Hermes was one of the more popular gods and festivals were held in his honor named the Hermoea. Hermes has three main aspects in his life, first is the story of Apollo and his herd, second is his origin and how he became what he is now, and last is his duties as the herald of the gods.
