The Power of One: Is It Historically Correct?

Summary:   Essay examines if "The Power Of One" by Bryce Courtney is really historically correct.


In my opinion, I really do think that the film, "The power of one" is historically correct in its portrayal of South Africa, its people and attitudes during the time the film was set, the 1940's. It manages to somewhat restore the knowledge of the audience about the South African culture and almost teleport them into the world of the film, because of its realism.

There are many examples of historical re-enactment and accuracy displayed throughout the film. In fact, some might say that the whole film is a copy of the 1940 South Africa. However there are some examples that truly stand out beyond the others in the film.

One main example is the portrayal of the landscape and scenery of South African cities and areas during that time. The dusty, orange ground was exactly.....
