Benjamin Franklin

Summary:   This essay is a bibliography of Benjamin Franklin. It focuses on his early life, his various aspects of study, and his contribution to the formation of America.


Benjamin Franklin was one of the greatest American thinkers of all time. He was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was enrolled in a grammar school when he was eight years old. Although, he excelled in reading and writing, he did not do well in arithmetic and therefore was removed from the school. His first job was at a printing press, owned by his brother James. Benjamin started writing a daily column and gained praise for his writing. His brother became jealous of this, and fights broke out between the two. Due to this, Benjamin left Boston, and went to Philadelphia in 1723.

Benjamin Franklin invented many things such as the catheter, the Franklin stove, the lightning rod, the odometer, and the bifocals. He became the deputy postmaster of the colonies in 1753......
