Ahab: A Determined Man

Summary:   Essay discusses how the character of Ahab from the book "Moby Dick" was a determined man.


Ahab is the main character Moby Dick, written by Herman Melville. Ahab, the captain of the Pequod and his crew are off on the high seas. He has a mission that he feels he was to complete. Ahab is a strong man both mentally and physically and is very determined to get his prize.

When Ahab is first introduced to the story the book is just beginning to get interesting. Ahab had been a sailor and now a captain all his life. He was a born whaler and leader. His past was full of vengeance towards the great white whale Moby Dick. Moby Dick had taken off his leg as he and others where trying to kill the great whale. Ahab is so vengeful that he hires a crew and prepares to go on a hunt for.....
