During the "Roaring 20's" the tension between traditional attitudes and new, changing values were caused and manifested by economic reformations, cultural diversification, and social modulations.

The 1920's brought about many new economic changes in America. The primary economic reformations were related to workforce and labor. Due to a boom in technology, the need for manual labor gradually decreased. Although new structures and inventions were made due to this boom (Document B), scientific management and improved machinery caused the loss of many jobs. Because industrial wages for employed workers did slightly increase, this reality was not wholly expressed at the time. A change in labor unions also brought about economic changes and tension. As unions, such as the American Federation of Labor, were growing to be more conservative and nonaggressive, their popularity decreased.
