Summary: This essay is about prostitution during the 19th Century.
As the sun sets on the English skyline the nocturnal mistresses of the night began to appear throughout the cobblestone streets of the Nineteenth century. Throughout much of the day these individuals appeared to be common women. They went about their business just like any other member of society. However, this all changed when night came upon them. During the Victorian Period, there were many prostitutes who roamed the streets and offered themselves in turn for money. The English prostitutes were a prime example of the many prostitutes throughout Europe at this time. Prostitution resulted in much controversy throughout Europe, although especially in England. There were three primary reasons fueling Prostitution as a revolutionary social movement of that era.
