Summary:   The following is an informative essay about anthrax.


Anthrax is a frightening disease caused by a colorless, odorless and tasteless bacterium in the form of a powder. The powder protects itself from sun, heat and disinfectant by forming a protective coat around it. The bacterium is formally called Bacillus Anthracis. A single bacterium is called a spore. Eight-thousand to 10,000 spores, which together are less than the size of a speck of dust, could be a fatal dose. There are three kinds of anthrax: Pulmonary Anthrax (inhaled) is usually deadly. Cutaneous infections are when anthrax spores come in contact with a cut or other skin opening. Another type develops when a person eats the meat of an animal that was infected with anthrax that is not well-cooked. These two types are less lethal than Pulmonary Anthrax. Symptoms usually appear within seven days, and vary.....
