Biography of Saddam Hussein

Summary:   The following essay presents a biography on Saddam Hussein.


fáSaddam Hussein was born on April 28th 1937 in the village of Al Awja in the Tikrit district of Iraq in a family of sheepherders. His mother tried an abortion for her pregnancy, but failed and had Saddam, which means ¡§ one who confronts¡¨ in Arabic. His father Hussein Abd al Majid died or disappeared before Saddam was born. His mother Subha Tulfah al Mussallat remarried and he had 3 half brothers. His stepfather Ibrahim al Hassan treated Saddam harshly and forced him to steal. At the age of 10 Saddam moved to Baghdad to live with his Uncle Khairallah Tulfah. In 1955 he attended the nationalist school and joined the baath party where he committed his first murder.....
