Essay gives my personal opinion on street violence.
To some of us life may be a joke but what we fail to realize is how precious it is. My journal this week is on street-violence and how it is costing Canada in all sorts of ways. Lives are not the only things that are lost; guns and ammo are stolen too. This has left many arms and ammunition companies bankrupt.
The police have made many gang arrests but to no avail. Not more than a week a go, 65 gang arrests and 500 charges were made. The night after that was absolutely horrendous. Other gangs leapt into violence resulting in more loss of innocence lives and guns. Gun violence costs Canadians more than six billion to nine billion a year. This represents a major health-care as well as a criminal justice issue. No wonder.....
