Summary:   Essay provides an analysis of "The Once and Future King."


In the final chapters of The Once and Future King, King Arthur sits in his pavilion on the battlefield at Kent, where his army is currently fighting Mordred's men. Morning will soon arrive, and Arthur begins to think about laws, and the reasons for war. Throughout his life, Merlyn had educated Arthur on all possible aspects of the world, including power, the mistreatment of power, and battle, and at this moment of Arthur's life, he must learn to think for himself. As Camelot and all that was once treasured are deteriorating around Arthur, he realizes that the perfect world he once knew has inevitably been twisted into a chaotic nightmare. His thoughts take him back to his naïve and carefree childhood where he can finally come to a conclusion about the war-drenched world he now lives.....
