Much Ado about Nothing and the Use of Comedy

Summary:  

Essay describes the use of comedy in the film "Much Ado About Nothing."

So there were these two apples sitting in a bowl. One apple turns to the other and says, "Man, this sucks." The other apple turns around and says, "Holy crap! A talking apple!.".. Humor is hard to pull off. The act of making another human being laugh is sometimes difficult, for there needs to be some sort of universal identification with what in fact is funny. What is funny to one person could be heartbreaking to another, and it becomes hard to understand how all comedy can possibly be derived from the same way of thinking. Comedy itself is an art; a mysterious way of looking at a situation that makes light of life's problems, and when it is expressed in the right way, everyone can be entertained and perhaps changed by it. Nearly 400 years.....
