Summary: Essay provides an analysis of the movie "Far and Away."
The reason that Joseph migrated was because he dreamed of having land of his own were he could grow his own crops and not have to deal with landlords. The landlord burned down his house in Ireland. Also the landlord was cruel to the people who lived in the village. Joseph also was a victim of poverty and had great difficulty growing potatoes on the land were he lived. Shannon wanted to migrate for different reasons though. She the daughter of the landlord and therefore was extremely rich. She wanted to migrate for she wished for adventure and didn't want to become one of her mothers boring friends like a proper lady. She wished to move to Boston and then to race in the race for free land out in the western area.
