What characteristics do a hero possess? Do all heroes possess the same traits? In the stories "Beowulf" and "The Day of Destiny" we were introduced to two great heroes with many of the same characteristics, yet very different in character. They both retained characteristics that made them great warriors and kings. Both of these characters were extremely brave in the battles that they partook in. Whether it be defending ones kingdom, King Arthur, or fighting off evil monsters, Beowulf, they both showed an immeasurable amount of courage. They were also both very intelligent, but their intelligence differed. Beowulf, while strong with a sword, was also strong with his words. He used quick wit to defeat foes and entertain audiences.
